CC Arcade

Nine games and a pet above the prompt, paused when Claude finishes its turn

CC Arcade running in Claude Code

Recorded on Claude Code 2.1.287 in a sandbox. Claude's replies are scripted; everything the mod draws is real.

What it does

Run /arcade and a row of buttons appears above the prompt, one per game. Click one and its board takes that space: snake, Tetris, a Doom-style corridor shooter, 2048, Minesweeper, Flappy, Pong, a typing test or Space Invaders. When Claude finishes its turn, the game pauses and its status line turns yellow with "Claude is done", so you don't miss the reply. There's also a pet that grows as Claude passes tests, commits and edits files.

How to use it

  • /arcade opens the picker. /arcade <game> opens one directly: snake, tetris, doom, 2048, minesweeper, flappy, pong, typing, invaders or pet.
  • Click the board to give it the keyboard. Esc hands the keyboard back to the prompt.
  • Click ← games above the board to go back to the list, and close (or run /arcade stop) to close it.
  • /arcade random picks a game you didn't just play. /arcade auto picks one for the moment: a quick round while Claude is working, a longer one once a turn passes a minute.
  • /arcade list shows every game with your best score.
  • In Doom, W and S walk, A and D strafe, the arrows (or Q and E) turn, Space fires and 1, 2, 3 switch weapons. /arcade colorblind gives it a palette that doesn't rely on red against green.

Good to know

  • A click is what gives a board the keyboard, so your terminal has to report the mouse.
  • Best scores and the pet live in the mod's own store on your machine. It makes no network calls and playing costs no tokens.
  • To feed the pet, it looks at each of Claude's tool calls: which tool ran, the text of Bash commands and whether the call failed. It keeps counts, not the commands.
  • Boards get the rows Claude Code gives the area above the prompt, so a taller terminal means bigger boards.
